Things That Trouble Me

Here are some things that trouble me.
17 innocent people get killed in Florida. The circus that follows. Students that protest for gun control because of this horrific incident. Since when do students use common sense at that age. They don't vote and are not independent for a reason. I know I am lumping then all together and some are certainly better than others. When I was young, you could trust a 10 year old and up to handle a rifle. Perhaps a 22 or smaller gauge weapon and we did not have the carnage we have today. What changed, we had 2nd amendment rights then too.  Our former President is encouraging these protestors just as he encouraged the protestors at Ferguson. I don't like it. It is wrong now and just as wrong after Ferguson. People are blaming the NRA. Other businesses are boycotting the NRA. The NRA did not kill these people. You could blame the FBI but you are not hearing that much about their failure. Why are we not protesting producers of violent video games and rappers and others that promote violence through their music and their words? Why do we not protest the violence promoted on television and the immoral behavior we are bombarded with every day.  Why did the FBI not investigate this shooter when many reported him again and again. Why?   We can support Planned Parenthood with taxes and not protest the killing they do? We can tell the history of governments that disarmed their people and killed millions to keep them in control, but we don't seem to believe it. The ex President is working to undermine this President and we don't seem to care. Yet if Bush had done the same to Obama, there would have been outrage. Why? We have given Transgender people admittance to our woman's bathrooms and call it good when it ends up being an opportunity for perverts to prey on our women and girls. Why? Transgenders are a very small segment of our population but we will endanger about 50% of the population and call it good. We want to up the age for being able to buy fire arms to age 21 when of the approximate dozen shooters in recent years have all been over 21 except for one. Why?  The existing laws did not keep Nicolas Cruz from getting his weapons. We fight over the fact that a couple of white men that have been the shooters are considered mental cases and aren't they all to some degree regardless of color or ethnic origin. Look at Chicago and some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation and they have more killing than just about anywhere else in this nation. If it is not a mental deficiency than surely it is a spiritual deficiency.  The suggestion to arm teachers to protect our students as worked in Israel but supporters of gun control don't want to hear that.  Australia confiscated the guns of their population  and their crimes have increased. We don't want to hear that either. Do we really want to protect our people, our children or do we only want to win a political battle. Perhaps we need to be honest and listen to both sides. Our Nation is in trouble and we can fix it but we have to work together and listen to each other. Any nation in the world can build a wall including Mexico and it is OK, why not here?  I really think we do not listen and have preformed opinions along political lines and do not think things through. Our President and many Business and Entertainment men and women have armed security. Yes we have had Presidents killed and we upped the security. Important people have been killed and we upped the security to protect them with armed guards, be it a private security force, or Secret Service, why is it wrong to protect our children in the same way. OF course we still abort the unborn at an alarming rate. Some  women can have as many as eight or more abortions and we don't think that is wrong. But we would object to forced birth control by surgical means to those on welfare. Why? Do we think things through? Is any body thinking any more or is it all about winning a political battle?  We cannot voice a disagreement on face book any more. Only likes and Amens or affirmation to the things we do agree with is allowed. Is our social media destroying us to where we cannot voice dissenting opinions any more?  We cannot talk things through anymore? This is a real freedom we are losing and it is time to wake up.  I think we do need to talk with kind and acceptable words when we disagree, and not the name calling and slander and profanity. Our Nation, our society is in trouble. Do we care or do we prefer to win a political battle and lose our freedoms in the process. Sometimes I wonder if any one thinks the things they support through. We protest an oil pipeline that is many times safer than hauling the same material over the highways in trucks. The man paying for the protests owns the trucks hauling the oil over the high ways? We protest corruption but when a supposed charity like the Clinton Foundations spends $252 on salaries and expenses for each $1 it actually gives, we ignore it. Do we actually think things through?  Do we listen or if it comes from the other side politically do we close our ears? We have the best country in the world, why would we want to change it to be like other countries that do not have our freedoms? We have been blessed by God, let us return to looking to God for our help. We are in trouble, we are spiritually sick as a nation and I believe only God can heal us.
