Sickness

Sickness is all around us. The flu was especially bad this winter in the south. Cancer has taken lives of dear ones. Sickness all around. When we list the sick at church that we pray for it is an 8.5 by 11 sheet long. Probably a font similar to this size. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.   James 5:14   We are to take our sickness to God. Call upon the Elders of the Church and let them pray over us. It is the church that needs to get on its knees for our sin sick country. To heal the divide in our nation, we need God's intervention. We believe in a sovereign God, and I do believe he heals today. Sometimes God can just speak. Sometimes he uses people, Doctors and nurses as his hands and feet.  We do need to look to heaven for healing, spiritual, physical, emotional mental. We can bring them all to Jesus through prayer. I remember a friend of mine,  one time praying for someone in our small group. I remember him saying we anoint with oil, it is symbolic as it is God that does the healing. We anoint with oil and pray out of obedience. There is no magic in the oil. We just follow instructions.  I wish I could anoint our nation with oil. We are sick, being destroyed daily from within. God does heal even spiritual sickness. We are in a spiritual battle in this nation, evil is at the core of the division and the hatred we see spoken every day. God can speak peace be still and command even the winds and the seas and they obey him. Lets continue to lift up our sin sick nation to God in prayer. Help us dear God and heal our land, LVZ.
