Foolishness of the Word

For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
 1 Corinthians 1:18
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek. Romans 1:16
but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 1 Corinthians 1:23
The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14
The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10
It doesn't surprise me when a non Christian discounts the word of God. The Bible says it will be a stumbling block  to those that do not believe. And that is what it is. To understand God and his word, you have to accept and believe in him. We are each given enough faith to believe if we choose to. But if you choose not to believe in God do not be surprised if the word does not make sense to you. There is a point where God's spirit will knock on your hearts door, and if you open the door to your heart and let him in, God will dwell with you and open your understanding. The natural man does not accept the things that come from the spirit of God, it is foolishness to those that do not believe and they cannot understand. The Bible says so. Satan come into this world to deceive and destroy. Watch what satan's works do. They destroy. The works of the flesh, they destroy, a married man (or woman) that permits sexual sin in his/her  life destroys the relationship and kills the marriage. Lies told destroy the trust between peoples. Lust is a sinful condition of the heart and it destroys. Faithfulness builds trust, builds relationships, Truth builds trust and builds relationships. Encouragement lifts others up, discouragement and tearing people apart, slandering destroys them and us in the process. We are in a spiritual battle for our nation.  When we are anchored in God we have a promise of eternity with him. Our short time on earth is a breath in comparison. If we believe the truth of God's word, that Jesus is the son of God and died for our sins, we will be OK. God promises to guide us in this present world with his spirit that loves us and nourishes us. Keep our President in Prayer (2 Chronicles 7:14), this is a spiritual battle we are in.  Gods principles work and build up, satans works destroy and tear down. Love builds and heals, hatred destroys. Forgiveness heals, unforgiveness destroys the person that won't forgive. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8. God bless. LVZ.
