commandment # 5
I am sure there is going to be more than one post on just about any commandment. It is happening again. Uproar about police shooting someone. Respect for all authority begins with this commandment. The short list 5. Honor your father and your mother. I don't think we think it through when we just read the short list of the ten commandments. There is a problem with respecting authority in this country and it is showing up again and again. Remember, we reap what we sow. Like Charles Stanley so many times says. We reap later than we sow and we reap more than we sow. In my opinion, I think that is what is happening now. we are reaping years of sowing disrespect. Who in their right mind does not think it is a good idea to listen to a police officers orders when confronted with something, how ever small an incident it may be? The police are armed and are trained to use force when necessary. When does it become necessary? Now that is where conflict is going to start. We think we are just a little insignificant issue in the policeman's day. Nothing to get alarmed about right? Except with the lack of respect for authority, a policeman has to approach every encounter with caution. He too wants to go home alive at the end of his shift. I can see there will be plenty of bad publicity over this latest incident. What will be the end result? More trust or less? Think this through unless you totally do not want a good cop when you really need one. Disrespect for all authority is getting worse. Disrespect for a President, we did not vote for and do not like what he is doing. Our governors and other lawmakers. Our parents. Just put any type of authority up to your scope of view and what do you see? More respect or less? Respect for any authority is learned or not learned based on our keeping or not keeping this 5th commandment. God bless, LVZ.
