A Virus Greater Than Corona-virus

But while they were all marveling at everything he was doing, Jesusd said to his disciples, 44“Let these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.” 45But they did not understand this saying, and it was concealed from them, so that they might not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask him about this saying. Luke  9:43b-45
We are in the week of Easter and in this passage of scripture Jesus is foretelling his death that is soon to happen. The Disciples were slow to understand what was in front of them. He was telling them, again and again, it was soon to happen that he would die on a cross. Here this man (Jesus) went about doing good and he was about to be killed for it. If you don't think that could happen just look at today. How easy it is for us to believe a lie. Just tell it often enough and someone will believe it. Jesus knew it was coming, it was for this purpose he came into the world, the Son of God to die for our sins. How did so many people go from laying down palm branches saying Hosanna to the King change to crucify him? It seems like a mob does not think for itself but thinks and does as the instigator of the mob says. We are living in dangerous times, we have never seen our economy shut down for a virus before. We can read about so many other things that came before and we were careful but went on living. Swine flu, aids, bird flu, and the list goes on and on. These are not things to fear but if our name is written in the book of life that is something to fear. That one act will determine our eternity. It is possible that this coronavirus will be a yearly thing as the flu is. But we hope in the future to have a vaccine for it. But we fear because it is spread so easily. Sin doesn't have to spread, we are born in sin. Everyone alive was born in sin or you might say with the virus of sin. Sin is terminal, the coronavirus is terminal in many cases with those that have a weakened immune system from other things or often the elderly. But yet we hear of those in their 90s that recover. We all are terminal. if not from the coronavirus than from something else.  Something will take us out of this life into eternity. It is 100% like rabies. There is an eternal death unless we believe in Jesus the Son of God, then we pass into eternal life.100% of us will stand before God someday to see if our names are written in the Book Of Life. Do we understand this? What is to be feared more, a virus that is 4%  (I have heard 2.3% to 4%)  terminal or something like rabies that is 100% terminal if untreated?  I think with treatment in time, the recovery rate of rabies is also 100%, I know the recovery rate for the virus of sin is 100% when we look to Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins. The treatment for the virus of sin also must be sought while there is time. God bless, LVZ.
