When We Fall Down We Get Up

for the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity. Proverbs 24:16
For the righteous falls seven times and rises again.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. Psalms 34:19
Much is said when a righteous man falls, but he rises again. Psalms says the Lord delivers him out of them all. When I think back to my Christian walk, I did stumble a lot. I sinned. But I remember that day when I returned to God some 30 plus years ago and I determined in my heart, I would not quit. No matter how big a hypocrite I felt I was, I would not quit. I look back and I stumbled and I stumbled again. But God picked me up each time and loved me again. It troubles me when I see Christians stumble as it troubled me when I stumbled, but we get up and ask to be forgiven and keep walking. I remember Pastor Darcy and his sermon Plod on Plod on Plod on. I remember the time I went to Pastor Weurch about a sin I had in my life and he prayed with me. I remember when my Uncle Val asked me why I had been married so many times and he said; I'll  pray for you. We stumble, we sin and we repent and keep walking. Many times we may be called a hypocrite and justly so for our sins, but we get up. God is gracious.  and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. Matthew 10:22  I don't believe we will live perfect lives but are our hearts fertile soil that receive the word when we hear it and repent? I have yet to meet a perfect Christian, We recently talked about hypocrisy in our Sunday School class. And all have failed but we get up.  Again and again we get up. We don't stay down. More important than anything is we have a heart that is fertile and open to God and his word. We repent and get up. When we are overtaken by a sin, we take it to God, confess and repent. We stumble but we rise again. Is our heart fertile soil for God to work with?  God bless, LVZ.
