Bearing False Witness
The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever. Psalm 119:160
God's rules work. We have only to look at how the universe that God put in place works. The earth rotates around the sun year after year after year. Seasons come and go, winter spring summer and fall. I think many Christians are praying for this government like never before. The hush fund, where Congressmen and Senators have paid off people they have misused for decades has been made known. Be sure your sin will find you out. You will reap what you sow. There are consequences for violating God's rules. Many times we think we got away with it because the harvest is always much later than the sowing. Now I do not know if Roy Moore did any of these things 40 years ago or not. But according to the laws of our country, he is to be innocent until proven guilty. I draw comfort in the fact that if these accusers are false, there is also a reaping down the road for bearing false witness. I am waiting for that to happen. It may keep Roy Moore from winning, but make no mistake a false witness will not escape the scrutiny of God. I really do not know if he is innocent or guilty and probably those witness, be they false or true may be the only ones that know other than God. God's rules endure and we don't like that or to be reminded of that if we are sowing bad seed. Many times the commandments are meant not to limit our freedoms but to give us the best life possible. These accusations to tear people down from 30 and 40 years ago are becoming common place but make no mistake people will reap what they sow. Society will reap what we sow if we condone bearing false witness. We will not like the result. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. That is the ninth commandment. I do not know if these witnesses against Roy Moore or Bill Cosby and many others are true or false. I do believe some of the witnesses against Bill Clinton were true and they tried to destroy them for Bill's sake, but we see what happens when we don't follow God's rules, we make an even bigger mess of our lives, our society and even for the next generation. Integrity matters, if it is a politician or a policeman, school teacher, minister or just a citizen that votes. The rule of God that you violate will have an affect. The ten commandments are not meant to make life difficult but to make it possible for us to live the best life possible. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. Galatians 6:7 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
God bless, LVZ.
