Enduring

Your word, Lord, is eternal;
it stands firm in the heavens.
Your faithfulness continues through all generations;
you established the earth, and it endures.
Your laws endure to this day,
for all things serve you.
Psalm 119:89-91
I think our society has forgotten God. Somewhere we got off the path of seeking and believing in God. God's word is eternal, it continues through all generations. It doesn't change when governments change.  As the earth keeps rotating on its axis  around the sun, keeping its place in the universe, we forget it was God that made it all happen. We came up with alternate explanations for our existence and we don't like faith. But it takes more faith to believe we evolved from monkeys. If some monkeys evolved, why didn't all evolved? Or why do we not see the different stages?  Over the years as scientific knowledge as increase, it becomes more amazing that life can exist on planet earth.  God's laws were meant to help us live peaceful and productive lives. Marriages thrive when we learn to serve one another, they disintegrate under selfishness. These are principles God's word tries to teach us. He that would be greatest, let him be a servant. I think we see this principle work its way in so many ways. Some of our greatest leaders have been those that served others. I think of a Christian example, Bill Gaither, as he served others during a trying time and promoted other artists, he became even more successful.  All through his 119 Psalm we read about learning God's word, his laws, his precepts etc. Just as laws of nature seem to work, we would find God's laws , his ways also work. If it be on our earthy occupation, or in our families, all around us, we can find that God's ways work. His work instructs us in all of life. I was thinking of the Alder board I ran for and lost. Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. Proverbs 11:14 Here is a bit of wisdom that many follow today even in the business world. We see large corporations that have board of directors, we see cities that have boards to make their decisions. We see Churches that have a board of Elders or Deacons that guide them. It is because God's ways word. There is wisdom in his word, for just plain living. A soft answer turns away wrath, is another bit of wisdom we can find. God created us and understands us better than we know our selves. God's word is eternal, and some day when we stand before God, it is God and his word that will judge us. God bless, LVZ.
