Keeping God's Law
And the LORD said to Moses, “How long will you refuse to keep my commandments and my laws? Exodus 16:28 Here in Exodus we find God trying to teach the Israelite his laws. It was during their journey through the wilderness that he gave the ten commandments. They were a difficult people to deal with. They would see the mighty hand of God protecting and keeping them but still would grumble and complain. One of the laws was keeping the Sabbath and a day of rest. God gave them manna from heaven to eat. They were to gather as much as they could eat in one day. If they kept it to the next day it would spoil and have worms in it. However on the 6th day of the week they were to gather enough for the day and the following day, the day of rest. It did not spoil as it had on other days. God was teaching them to keep the Sabbath. Most laws written today, if not all, relate back to the ten commandments in some way. If we could just keep the ten commandments, we would do well. they were given for our well being. Today I think it important that we still look to God's laws and commandments, his precepts, his way for our good. When we vote, we should keep in mind God's will. Who best aligns with God's will. In the decisions we make every day, how do these things align with God's word? God wants what is best for us. He does watch over us. Many times I see God's hand as he teaches me. Occasionally I get a glimpse of my own motivation and it surprises me. God want sour hearts and will lead us in paths that are for our best. He has a plan for each of us. God wants relationship with each of us. Let us look to God for guidance and direction in all areas of life. We would be so much better off as we follow God's will and his plan. He loves us and gave his son to die on a cross to pay for our sins. Greater love has any man than to lay down his life for another. God did this for you and me. Jesus laid down his life for us. Lets follow a loving God. God bless, LVZ.
