Guidance Needed

In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling. Exodus 15:13 Here we find the children of Israel on their journey through the wilderness. They have come through the Red Sea and are singing songs of praise. Then their journey takes them through a desert. So quickly, they grumble. The water is bitter and unfit to drink. God direct them to through a piece of wood into the water and the water becomes fit to drink. God is there guiding every step of the way. There are hard places along the way. We are much the same today. We don't understand when our Christian brothers and sisters are found with cancer. Yet we just lost a dear sister in the prime of life to cancer. One day she seemed healthy, I remember several small group gatherings and she was laughing and healthy, now a short time later she is gone forever to be with her God. Several others are facing their own battles, another brother in his last quarter of life has already gone through surgery but still cancer remains. Some God heals and others God takes so quickly and I don't understand. Life is left up to God. In unfailing love he leads us on the path he has for us. We need to depend on his strength for there is much we do not understand. I don't know the number of my days, but God does. Once when I was 26 years old, a long time ago I joked with a co-worker and friend, well I am a quarter of the way through my life. He liked that, because he was 58 and that meant he still had half his life before him. We moved on to other jobs and I don't know what happened to him. That was 38 years ago, he would be 98 if still living. I do not know.  Only God knows the number of our days. I am more than halfway even if I was right in my joking that day and I live to be 104. Only God knows my days and I need his guidance everyday. I pray he will continue to guide and direct my life. God bless, LVZ.
