By Faith
Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:4
The righteous shall live by his faith. Faith in God is something we live by. I believe God sent his son Jesus to die for my sins. I didn't see it happen, but the oldest History book ever written tells me it did happen. I didn't see George Washington, but I believe he was the first President of this country, because History Books tell me he was. I never saw Abraham Lincoln, but I believe he lived and died and was our 16th President. History tells me so. The Bible is a history book, it tells of one Jesus that died on a cross for me. I believe it the same as I believe George Washington and Abraham Lincoln were once alive and were Presidents of our country. I believe even though I did not live to see them. We accept God by faith. We believe the Bible is telling us the truth and by faith we accept that Jesus died for our sins. We believe in him. Faith is something anyone can exercise. You do not have to be rich or super intelligent to believe. In fact many times those things get in the way. We are rich and sometimes become self-sufficient, and thereby do not need God. Or perhaps we are very intelligent and explain away God. We are to smart to believe in something we cannot see. Can you see air? I breathe it every day, this room is full of it but I cannot see it. Yet I believe that is what I am taking into my lungs every time I breathe. But I cannot see it. I cannot see God, but yet I feel sometimes he speaks to me through his word, or perhaps through a minister. God is illogical, and if he wasn't it wouldn't take faith to believe in him. It is that faith in a God that I cannot see, that buys my ticket into heaven. I can't see God, I can't touch him, but I believe. I can't see Abraham Lincoln or George Washington but I still believe that the History books tell me they were former Presidents. And I believe, by faith. God bless, LVZ.
