Murphy's Legacy*
Cousin Murphy passed away into eternity. At the Monday Night memorial service, some were talking about the Murphy they knew. He wasn't perfect, some said he was a poor communicator. What I took note of were his children. Murphy may not have been a good communicator but his children seemed to have learned their need for a relationship with God. Many times we take our children to church and do the best we know, and think we did a good job. But it is when children get out on their own, we see if our training took hold on them. Every generation has to find God for themselves. What is more important in life than to know that we need God? Murphy was thought to not be a good communicator, but it seems he passed on to his children something money can't buy. Many times I will look at people and think if only they knew God. If only they had that faith in a time of hardship. If only they had that relationship going to help them with their children. We are a foolish people if we deny God. The fool has said in his heart there is no God. My thought was Murphy communicated something to his children that will be better than Silver and Gold. When I look at his children, I think perhaps he communicated the most important thing in life very well. God bless, LVZ.
