I Like To Blog
I don't know why but I like to blog. It's not a popular blog. The views are only in the single digits most of the time. I have only had two posts that had over 100 views, and for the life of me I can't figure out why those two had so many views. I have written approximately 1700 posts with the ones I have since deleted. Sometimes I write what I think is a good one. Sometimes after I read it again a few days later, I don't think it was so good and delete it. I don't care that it's not popular. I like to write about my thoughts. I have written several posts about why I do that. For one thing, I believe God put it on my heart. It is a way for me to witness to others about my story. Perhaps over time, it will even show growth. I know I don't think the same as I did 50 years ago, perhaps some of the early blogs from even 2012 I don't think the same. If I reread them and I don't like them I delete them. But I like to write this blog. I didn't know I would like it at first. I just did it because I felt God wanted me to. Now I do it because I like it, I hope it is pleasing to God. I hope I get better. I am trying. I have corrections that show up all the time. What I don't understand is why the person that is always so critical of almost everything I write, keeps reading. It has been 8 years, 1700 posts, what I remember the most is hearing the word hypocrite. I do not know anyone that would like to constantly hear criticism, if a boss or a spouse, a normal person would seek to get out of that relationship. That is why I am thankful we have as strong a President as we do. Upwards of 90% of the media coverage of our liberal press on our President or anything he does is negative. When he shuts down the border to limit travel between dangerous countries and our country, he is criticized, then days later he did not do enough quick enough. I think I beat his percentage, my percentage of negatives is higher than his. Actually, on my other site, I did get a couple of positive replies early on. A lot of times I say what I think about issues or what I am reading in the word of God. I don't claim to have a corner on the market when it comes to the word of God, never did. I write what I think. Good, Bad, or Indifferent (in between). I have always been short of words all my life. Sometimes I don't explain my thoughts thoroughly but I do try and reread them to do better. Most of the time my posts set a day or two so I can reread them before I post them. As with this post, I deleted some words and added others. Sometimes they may set for months. I have learned over time that what I write or say is not always the same as my brain is thinking, it is not clear. I am trying to be better. I probably make as many gaffes as Joe Biden but my critic can defend Joe, or at least say something positive. By the way, my critic if you read this, the dictionary says critiquing is the act of criticizing. The Bible tells us to encourage one another. I belong to a church that encourages us and tries to help us be the best that we can be. We are instructed in a good way how to live in this present evil world. Sometime back I did a post on Romans 16, where Paul wrote an encouraging letter and mentioned just briefly something good about 25 or more people in the close of his letter. When people tell you something good you are doing it encourages you, as Paul shows us at the beginning of Romans chapter 16. Now here are some words from Thessalonians.
11Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.12Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.
13Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.
14And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
15Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. 1 Thessalonians 5:11-15. How much better our world would be if we could follow this principle. Lord help me to follow my own words. Thanks for reading and God bless.
