Hysteria

Melting ice caps are going to put many places underwater.  In June 1989 a headline in a newspaper stated we had 10 years to turn this around or we would find many places underwater. The Ocean levels were to rise by three feet. None of this has happened in the past 30 years. Think about this, Ice that melts has less volume once it has melted. So it is with any ice underwater, it takes up less space when it melts. I understand that a lot of ice is above sea level. But think about it. These reports of widespread destruction do not happen but people are angry that believe these reports. Nobody holds those that make these reports accountable.  How about the left explaining why the sea level has not risen 3 feet after thirty years when it was told it would take only ten years.   The Maldives Islands near the equator in the Indian Ocean were supposed to disappear underwater by 1999. It hasn't happened. Why did these climate change believers change their belief from global cooling to global warming and then when neither of these panned out they just went to climate change? Because the climate is always changing. They deceive the public by showing ice caps in the middle of winter in say 1950 and compare it to pictures currently in the middle of summer to alarm us. Knowing all this,  people still believe in widespread destruction based on false reports and predictions that never come true.  Yes, climate changes, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. We are having record-breaking high temperatures here locally,  some of those records were set in the 1930s and 1950s. I am wondering if we will break any coldness records this winter.  I think people that believe this climate change alarmist reporting are idiots, knowing the many false reports from even thirty years ago. I know Idiot is an unkind word but I can't think of a better substitute. If we don't buy into this hysteria, that is what they think of us. I think the Greta Thunberg speech before the United Nations was cruel to use a vulnerable child to speak their views and then anyone that disagrees is supposed to be silent because after all, she is a child.  But before the United Nations an international organization, it should be challenged child or not. We should not be pitting a child against grown-ups in something as important as global warming. It was just a dirty trick. Put a child out there fill their head with their beliefs and the other side cannot comment.  But it shows how flimsy their arguments are when they have to resort to dirty tricks. The other side does not have to resort to dirty tricks, we can just point to their headlines from 30 years ago. Yes we need to take care of the earth, but don't sell us on plastic grocery bags to save the planet and then thirty years later you have a bigger issue of plastic masses in our oceans. We need to take care of the earth but not through man-made hysteria that proves false thirty years later. I think we should have stayed with paper bags and replanted more trees. If you are really afraid of fossil fuels why not support nuclear options? Electric cars, the infrastructure is not there to support it, and how about the harmful chemicals used to create batteries? We need to think more things through and not support these mass hysteria that keep coming along.  Or how about controlled burning to manage the underbrush in our forests so we don't have so many out of control forest fires that destroy habitat and watersheds for years to come.
