Jesus Was Killed And Lived Again

saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.” Luke 9:22
From then on Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and that he would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but on the third day he would be raised from the dead. Matthew 16:21
There are many religions in our world. But the thing that makes Christianity different is that Jesus died and rose again on the third day.  Baba'u'llah  died but was never raised again. Muhammed was not raised from the dead. Buddha lived several centuries ago and has not been seen since.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me
1 Corinthians 15:3-8
Jesus is the only one of these many leaders of religions that rose from the dead. That is what makes Christianity different. Jesus is alive and well today. After walking on this earth for many days after his resurrection and being seen by more than 500 at one time he ascended to heaven and sits at the right hand of God the father. He died on a cross for our sins. He was the payment that needed to be made for our sins. Many religious teach to live a good life and perhaps to do good to others. And that is great. But Muhammed, Baba'u'llah, the Dalai Lama did not die and rise from the grave. Jesus and only Jesus did. That is why we celebrate Easter each year, because Jesus rose again. He died for sin once and forever so that we could come to God for the pardon of our sins. If there was any other way to God, we could all go that way to God and Jesus didn't need to die.  That is the reason Christianity is different, because Jesus did die for our sins and rose again. He is the only way to an eternity with God. None of these other prophets can forgive sin and wash them away as far as the east is from the west. It is interesting that we are told that our sins are removed as far as the east is from the west. If you were to start walking straight east from where you are, you could keep walking forever and never reach the west, it would always be in front of you. If you were to walk straight north, eventually you would get to the North Pole and then would walk south until you reached the south pole and then you would walk north again.  Once forgiven for sin, you can never find them again. It is as if they never happened. That is what makes Christianity different. We serve a risen Savior and we can have a relationship with him. In fact without that relationship, Christianity is just another religion. God bless. LVZ.
