Warped
As I was reading this morning in Titus chapter three I noted the word warped was used in verse 11. It caught my attention so I am meditating and thinking on that. I was reading in the NIV and I went to Blue Letter Bible to get a concordance and it would use the word perverted. But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned. Titus 3:9-11. Who is this scripture talking about that is warped? It would be a person that loves foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law. It says these things are unprofitable and worthless. We need to watch out for people who divide and after warning them a couple of times, have nothing to do with these warped individuals. Warped seems to be a modern day word and I guess I just happened to be reading in a version that used it. There are some warped people in our land. There are those that continually stir up controversy. There was a time when after an election we would come together and work together but if you haven't noticed, it is not that way anymore. It is like one big controversy after another. Our country is warped. I have never in my life prayed for a President like I have our current President. He is being fought and hindered every step of the way. We are warped. Instead of accepting and hoping for the best, the other side politically is fighting him every step of the way. I think this version of the Bible puts it well, they are warped. They do not want what is best for our country, only what serves their agenda. As Christians we realize God gives us our rulers, if we like him or not, that is who God gave us. Our public officials are to be God's servants for us the public. But it seems the attitude of serving others is lost any more and it seems most serve themselves first. I know that civil authority is ordained by God. Read Romans 13. They are God's servants. One thing I would like to note, God keeps a record and that record does not lie. I question, does my theology line up with the word of God? That is why I ponder and read from the word each day. That I might feed my self spiritually and check if I be in the faith. I don't want to be divisive, or be foolish in my discussions. I don't want to be warped in my thinking. The best way I know to do that is to seek God and his will for my life. I want to line up with his word. Check my heart, my attitude. God help me to be your child this day in all I do, say and think. I do not want to be warped. God bless, LVZ.
