Make It Personal 2
Once again as I have pondered 2 Chronicles 7:14, I have had things come to mind. As I have prayed and asked God to look into my heart there are a couple of things God has brought to my attention. I believe that is why God put those words "turn from their wicked ways" in that verse. The inward look into our hearts will reveal things that God wants to correct in our hearts and lives. If we really want God to move in our country, then we have to be willing to not only look inside but to change things in our heart. Allow God to look in the dark corners of our hearts to find those things that are not pleasing to him. This is a critical part of that verse: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." We need to take that phrase seriously. What ever God brings to mind must be dealt with. Is that not what revival is? Searching the hearts of God's people and making corrections as needed. O God, help us to do just that, look inside and change those things that are not pleasing to you. If God's people will be willing to look inside and make changes, I believe God will perform the last part of that verse. As he heals us, he will heal this nation. I do not believe it will happen unless, we God's people, will turn from our wicked ways. Perhaps we do not like the term wicked ways. Wicked ways are the things in our life that are contrary to God's word. Wicked ways are sinful ways. However you feel comfortable in stating it, those things need to be repented of and turned from. God bless, LVZ.
