Parenting*

Even when our kids are grown, we have a responsibility as the older generation to try and steer them in the right direction. I wish I could live my life over with the knowledge I now have. But none of us can. I believe I did the best I knew as a parent. I was awfully young and a kid myself when my kids were born. I could have done better knowing what I know today. But I can't go back. I had to take responsibility for my own life. I had to take responsibility for the decisions I made. There comes a point where you can no longer blame everything on Mom and Dad. Some kids try to blame parents their whole life. It may make them feel better temporarily to have someone to blame. It does not change the situation. Once they become an adult the decisions and the responsibility is on them. Lots of people had bad parenting and turned out good, accomplished much with their lives. Others that had what we consider good parents turn out bad. Each of us is responsible for the footprints we leave behind. Have I helped someone, have I encouraged someone, have I tried to steer others in the right direction and avoid some of the mistakes I made? Yes, I have, I really have tried. God bless, LVZ.
